Ibiza interiors

I am back from Ibiza where  I first spent an amazing week with my London friends and then three rainy days on a boat with my sister and her boyfriend. I have to be honest, it took me a while to fully understand the island and at first I thought it was overrated. 

I love wild sea places where the nature is the uncontested star and Ibiza is not like that, it is very built up in some places with horrible blocks of flats. 

But this is not the point. 

It is, first of all, the island of music. Here you can listen to the best music, everywhere. It is also a place where the rich and 'poor' live together because Ibiza offers something for everybody. Contained in a surface of 41 x 15 kilometers you can find bars serving the full English breakfast for a few euros or the most expensive restaurant in the world, typical fincas famous for their tapas and Japanese design restaurants. 

Very efficient organization and a certain 'live and let die' attitude makes all of these different offers possible and thousands of people live together in perfect harmony. 

In the Seventies Ibiza attracted  a hippy community that slowly grew and colonized the island. This hippy spirit is preserved in the Ibiza fashion mood (the most common outfit seems to always be sandals, white clothes, colourful handbags, big earings) and in the decoration of its fabulous villas. 

I have selected for you a few photos of Ibiza interiors as an inspiration. I love the wall behind the double bed in the Villa Surga (Harissa Villas) and the wall in the living room in the Villa Mooie Nisjes (Harissa Villas). If you decide to do that in your house, remember that what you display on the shelves makes the difference. 
The headboards of the single beds are made of branches  and the beach umbrella used as a decoration in the amazing Lluis Galliussi's interiors are ideas to copy. Lluis Galliussi's interiors are never predictable, I really admire him. 
The wooden table on the top picture is to die for.

Sono appena tornata da Ibiza dove ho passato dei giorni meravigliosi prima con i miei amici di Londra poi, gli ultimi tre giorni (di cui due piovosi purtroppo), in barca con mia sorella. Mi ci è voluto un pò per capire a pieno l'isola e all'inizio ho pensato che fosse sopravvalutata. 
Amo i posti di mare selvaggi in cui la natura è indiscussa protagonista ed Ibiza non è sempre così, è in parti molto costruita, ha orrendi condomini di appartamenti e parti che sembrano una città. 

Ma non è questo il punto. Prima di tutto, è l'isola della musica. Qui puoi sentire la musica migliore, ovunque. 

E' inoltre il posto dove ricchi e 'poveri' convivono perchè Ibiza offre tutto per tutti. In una superficie di 41 x 15 chilometri puoi trovare bar che servono la colazione inglese per pochi euro ma anche il più caro ristorante al mondo, fincas tipiche famosi per le tapas e ristoranti giapponesi di design. 

Un'organizzazione efficiente ed una certa attitudine al 'vivi e lascia vivere' fa sì che tutte queste offerte ed i milioni di visitatori estivi convivano in perfetta armonia. 

Ibiza ha attratto negli anni Settanta una comunità hippy che lentamente ha colonizzato l'isola. Lo spirito hippy è rintracciabile nel mood della moda (la mise più in voga sembra  essere da sempre sandali, vestiti bianchi, borse colorate, grossi orecchini) e nel mood della decorazione che mischia etnico e stile grecia. 

Ho selezionato per voi alcune foto dei suoi interni da ispirazione. Mi piace moltissimo il muro dietro al letto matrimoniale nella Villa Surga (Harissa Villas) o nel living della Mooie Nisjes villa (Harissa Villas). Mi raccomando, se lo fate ricordatevi che quello che mettete sulle mensole fa la differenza. 
Da copiare l'idea delle testiere dei letti singoli fatte di rami e l'ombrellone da spiaggia come decorazione negli interni di Lluis Galliussi, che adoro. 
Per non parlare del tavolo in legno nella prima foto dall'alto, stupendo.
