Papageno caffè

We went for a drink at the Papageno Caffè in Viale Aventino in Rome, well located between Circo Massimo and Piramide and only two stops away from where we live. It is the perfect place for a summer aperitivo, a mix between a literary cafè, a Parisien bistrot and a bar in New York, as a comment in Trip Advisor says. The ceiling, the bar and the tables are covered with tin, the interior is a mixture of different shades of grey softened by the colours of the books and some quirky vintage objects and lights. The stickers representing palm leaves recall the exotic theme emphasized by the painted parrots and the African head wall lights.

Siamo andati per un drink da Papageno Caffè in Viale Aventino a Roma, strategicamente posizionato fra Circo Massimo e Piramide e solo a due fermate di metro da dove abitiamo noi. E' il posto perfetto per un aperitivo estivo, un misto fra un caffè letterario, un bistrot parigino e un bar a New York, come lo definisce un commentatore di Trip Advisor.  Il soffitto, il bar e i tavoli sono ricoperti di ferro o latta, gli interni presentano diverse tonalità di grigio ammorbidite da i colori dei libri e da alcuni oggetti e luci vintage. Gli adesivi delle foglie di palme sulla vetrata che divide la cucina dal bar richiamano il tema esotico dei pappagalli dipinti sul muro e le applique con le teste africane.
