I have always thought that ropes could be good material for new designs and in fact there are a few out there already. I love rope because it is resistant, doesn't bobble, is highly tactile even if preserves the idea of softness typical of textile and, above all, it carries with it the fascination of sailing and fishing. I really would like to buy a rope rug, I saw a few in La Maddalena but they were black and expensive. Maybe I shall make my own!
If you fancy a bit of DIY to get you in the autumn mood, follow Design Sponge's advice and make your own rope door stop with sea ropes but also with climbing ropes!
L'ispirazione è ovunque.
Ho sempre pensato che le cime fossero un buon materiale per nuovi design e di fatti ce ne sono già alcuni sul mercato. Amo le cime perchè sono resistenti, non fanno pallini, sono estramamente materiche ma conservano l'idea della morbidezza del tessuto e soprattutto ricordano il fascino del navigare e pescare. Volevo prendere un tappeto fatto di corda a La Maddalena ma erano solo neri ed erano troppo cari. Forse dovrei farne uno!
Se avete voglia di cimentarvi con un pò di DIY per entrare meglio nel clima autunnale, seguite i consigli di Design Sponge e create da soli un bel ferma-porte con cime nautiche ma anche con corde da arrampicata!
